Like most things, when you love it, you want to share it with the world. I love to travel. Like so many others, it started with backpacking across Europe. I knew then that a passion was blooming. Before I knew it, I was traveling to South America camping in the Pisco Valley, soaking in Japan's hot springs, surfing in central America, scuba diving the Great Barrier Reef and living in a Spanish village. I sampled wine as we meandered through the locks sailing down the Canal Du Midi, France, the pizza in Rome is no joke and the art in Florence is awe-inspiring. Mexico is also dear to my heart, and I often return to explore the places less traveled. Have you ever stood under the Super Trees in Singapore? Or watched as the 'bergies' float by your cruise ship in Alaska? Just when I thought it could get any better, I heard that crewing on a private yacht was a great way to see more of the world, so I did that. I spent four years in this luxurious industry cruising New York and the Caribbean on my first yacht then moved to the west coast and spent summers cruising the B.C. coast and winters in Mexico where we tended to the whims of the rich and sometimes famous. We are asked to share our favorite places and holidays, but they are all so unique that I couldn’t possibly pick one. However, if I had to share one of my top experiences, it would be Thailand. My heart burst when I visited the elephant rescue sanctuaries in Thailand and met the wonderful people looking after them. It will be with me forever. I am still in awe of the places I have yet to explore. So much so that I have crafted a life out of traveling the world and I am excited to be your local travel consultant here in the lower mainland.
