Hello, my name is Carol Dyck, and welcome to my website. I live in North Vancouver with my family, and work out of Expedia Cruises West Vancouver. I also do a lot of cruise work out of my home - evenings and weekends included. I am NOT a 9-5 Monday to Friday travel agent.

I didn’t go on my first cruise until I was 41 years old! I never thought I would enjoy it. I thought I’d be bored, that there would be no one my age onboard, and that all everyone ever did was play bingo, lay by the pool, and eat! Boy, was I wrong!! From the moment I set foot on my first cruise ship, the Vision of the Seas, I was blown away by the soaring centrum, the smiling, helpful staff, and, of course, the fruity drinks with the little umbrellas in them. It was the best holiday of my life, and I suffered from Post-Cruise Depression (PCD) afterwards. I soon learned that the only cure to PCD is to book another cruise!

So far, I have been on over 50 cruises, and have had many different experiences in ports. I like to do active excursions, but there are excursions out there for all activity levels. I have kayaked, ridden horses on the beach, ziplined (my personal favourite), gone swimming with stingrays, gone whale watching, ridden a dog sled on wheels, climbed Dunn’s River Falls, gone river tubing, parasailed, mountain biked, gone waverunning, and ridden ATVs, just to name a few. There is no end to the activities that you can do in port! In Europe, the tours concentrate on the historical and cultural aspects of the many ports that you can find on a European itinerary. My Mediterranean cruises and river cruise fascinated me with the history. Cruise ships also go to Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Africa, and Antarctica. You can go to every continent in the world on a cruise.

There are cruise lines out there to suit every personality type. Some are contemporary, and appeal mainly to families with children, while others cater more to an adult crowd. Some lines have smaller ships that pamper a smaller number of passengers with luxury. Some ships are so large that they have ice rinks, rock walls, bowling alleys, mini-golf, ziplines, flowriders, and/or carousels on them! It is just impossible to be bored! You can do as much or as little as you want. After all, it’s YOUR vacation.
