While exploring more than 30 countries, my favorite memories include a barefoot cruise of the Whitsunday Islands, destination wedding on Mykonos (with the bride arriving via donkey), Apsara bas reliefs of Angkor Wat, archeology dig of 2000 BC Nubian artifacts along the Nile, sledding the Himalayas, riding the world’s fastest rollercoaster in Abu Dhabi, galleries of Musée d’Orsay, truffles in Orvieto and dark chocolate in Perugia, kayaking Norwegian fjords, walking the Red Carpet at Cannes, scuba diving off Sharm el-Sheikh, Mozart dinner concert in Salzburg, late night Tango bars of Buena Aires and cycling islands of the Stockholm archipelago. I’ve stayed aboard large yachts, at 5-star resorts, quaint B&Bs, pampering spas, adventure travel lodges, world-class hotels and everything in between – including the houseboat on Dal Lake in Srinagar, Kashmir (where Ravi Shankar taught Beatle George Harrison to play sitar).
