Hello,
Many are trying new recipes during this Stay Home / Distancing time that we are in right now. This is my absolute favorite cruise dessert. Here is the recipe if you'd like to give it a try at home.
CARNIVAL’S MELTING CHOCOLATE CAKE RECIPE
Are you craving some chocolate cake? Learn how to make Carnival’s famous melting chocolate cake at home!
SERVES: 4 servings
TOTAL TIME: Prep: 20 minutes; baking time 14 minutes
DIFFICULTY: 2/5
INGREDIENTS:
• 6oz Dark Chocolate (or 3/4 cup dark chocolate chips)
• 6oz Butter (3/4 cup)
• 4 Eggs
• 3 oz Sugar (3/4 cup)
• 2oz Flour (1/4 cup)
HOW TO MAKE IT
1. Melt the chocolate and butter
2. Mix eggs and sugar and whisk for a few minutes, then add flour
3. Add the egg mix to the melted chocolate and mix (let the chocolate cool 10 minutes)
4. Pour the mix in a greased mold (4 - 7 oz ramekins filled 3/4 full)
5. Bake directly in the oven at 390°F for 14 minutes. Baking time may need to be extended due to our elevation.
Recipe Tips for Chocolate Melting Cake
It is supposed to be spongy and cakey on top but gooey and melty in the middle. After 14 minutes, be sure to keep checking it. You don’t want it to be cakey all the way through, nor do you want it to be too runny.
Use your judgment for doneness because oven temps and elevations are different for everyone. If you are worried about it, keep doing the “toothpick test” every minute or so. If you put the toothpick all the way down to the bottom and the bottom half of the toothpick DOESN’T come out clean, you did it right.
Have fun and enjoy!

Plan your next vacation!
Once this is over many people will be traveling again. It would be great to have already researched and priced out your next "bucket-list" destination. Please let me know if you would like any information and pricing for some options for you and your family to "escape it all".

About me:
I ventured to my "second" career in travel in 2015 after many years working in the Calgary oil industry. I had already started taking on-line courses, working towards the Travel Consultant certificate. With my love of travel, I had been thinking of travel sales as a second career for some time.
As a single, as part of a couple, and as part of our family, I have traveled to many places. There are several that I truly loved, and have returned or will return. But in all honesty, I can't think of any that I truly didn't like. Travel is the one hobby/pastime that always educates/entertains/enlightens/relaxes/ etc (you fill in the words for your experience).
I have cruised many times, have traveled to land destinations, and have been part of a "crew" of 4 cruising a small boat on the canals in southern France. Here are some of the places I've been:
Europe - many times, both cruising (Med both eastern and western and Baltic/Scandinavia) and land
UK - many times - land
The Caribbean - many times, both cruising and land
US - Alaska cruise, to the south/Gulf Coast, east coast, west coast, Hawaii
Canada - as far east as PEI
Southern Africa
Middle East (Israel and Egypt)
New Zealand
Favorite Sun destinations: Maui, Sint Maarten, Greek Islands, San Diego, Phoenix
Need to go Back destinations: Southern Africa, Tampa (beautiful!), Savannah
Need to Visit destinations: Southeast Asia, Iceland, Portugal, Scotland, Eastern Europe
